Campus Networks and How to Establish a Compus Network:
Starting a Campus Chapter
We are excited about your interest in starting a college/university WoRI Network on your Campus!
Establishing a WoRI Campus Network provides students with an organized platform to begin preparing for professional life while still pursuing their academic studies. The following procedures outline the recommended steps for officially launching and operationalizing a WoRI Network within a Higher Learning Institution under the guidance of the Work Readiness Institute
Step 1: Expression of Interest
- Interested students shall formally express their intention to start a WoRINet on campus.
- A minimum of 5 founding members is required to initiate the process.
- Founding members must demonstrate commitment to work readiness and discipline-based development
Step 2: Formation of an Interim Leadership Team
The founding group shall nominate an Interim Leadership Team comprising:
- Network Coordinator
- Assistant Coordinator
- Programs Officer
- Membership Officer
- Communications Officer
This team will be responsible for overseeing the registration and formation process.
Step 3: Application to the Work Readiness Institute
- The Interim Leadership Team shall submit a formal application to the Work Readiness through a special online form.
Step 4: Early Consultations
- Work with WoRI Institute to prepare and adopt the Campus Network constitution and prepare the network for Campus registration.
Step 5: Institutional Recognition
- Submit required documentation to the respective university or college authority for recognition as a student network or club.
- Comply with all institutional requirements governing student associations.
Step 6: Registration
- Once registered at the College/University level, submit registration proof and request recognition from Work Readiness Institute.
- Receive WoRINet Campus Registration Certificate from Work Readiness Institute (WoRI).
Step 7: Orientation and Induction
- Conduct an official orientation session for founding members.
- Introduce WoRINet objectives, expectations, and development pathways.
- Induct new members into the Network through a formal onboarding process
Step 8: Registration of Members
- Enroll interested students into the Network.
- Maintain an updated membership register.
- Communicate network guidelines, expectations, and participation requirements.
Step 9: Leadership Elections
- Hold the first Campus Network Leadership Elections in accordance with the constitution under the supervision of Work Readiness Institute.
Step 10: Campus Advisor Appointment
- Work with WoRI to choose and appoint a Campus Network Advisor.
- All Campus Networks are required to have an adult advisor who is a member of the faculty or staff of the college/university.
- You should take time to find someone who cares about this cause and has time that they are willing to dedicate to your network.
Step 11: Official Network Launch Event
- Organize a campus launch event to introduce WoRINet to the broader student community.
- Engage stakeholders such as faculty members, administrators, and student leaders
Step 12: Launch of Development Activities
- Begin implementation of Work Readiness Learning Modules.
- Organize mentorship sessions, workshops, and discipline-based development programs.
- Facilitate team-based activities to enhance professional skills.
Step13: Monitoring and Reporting
- Maintain records of attendance and participation.
- Submit periodic activity reports to the Work Readiness Institute.
- Monitor progress of members in completing development modules.
Starting a WoRI Network on Campus is the first step toward building a community of disciplined and work-ready graduates prepared for the demands of the modern workplace.
